For this post, I was tasked with giving a review of someone else’s blog that’s close to mine. Why didn’t I think to look this up before? Like helloooooo, I could’ve been tasting some delicious crawdaddies from places I never knew about. After viewing a few (which I enjoyed them all), I chose the blog Crawfish Nation!! I’ve definitely been inspired.
Crawfish Nation!! is ran by West Texan, Derrick (last name not given lol), who like me, loves him some mudbugs. Though he’s from a place where crawfish is next to nonexistent, he has no issue doing the footwork to satisfy his soul. His blog is a testament of his experiences from restaurants in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi who’ve featured the all-elite boiled crawfish to their menus. He also has tips on how to boil your own delicious crawfish at home and listed interesting facts about the bug.
What grabbed me initially was the personality that popped out of the screen. He was very bubbly, yet detailed on what his rating standards were. They were very close to mine so I immediately trusted his judgement. His pictures were mouthwatering and description of the boil/sauces were tactful but real. He also included the addresses and phone numbers of the restaurants, which made me facepalm with embarrassment (duh, Ro!) lol…I’ll try to get those added to mine asap. I loved the way he used crawfish claws to symbolize his ratings to keep his page fun. Overall, he has some great insight and some places that I’ll definitely be giving a try. His blog gets a 4.5 out of 5 from me..(- deducted .5 because he hasn’t posted recently and I now neeeeeed him in my life lol).
